How to make yourself unfireable

rolling chair

Following Brittany Pietsch’s viral TikTok video of her being fired, it unlocked a whole new fear amongst Gen Z workers. 😱 Regardless of your feedback and performance, you can be laid on the chopping board at any moment.

So, we are here to tell you how to make yourself unfireable.

  1. Be consistent: Being a reliable and consistent employee is one of the biggest green flags to employers. You know your strengths and limitations, so keep up the flow and keep the same standard of work throughout your employment.

  2. Always be willing to help out: Whether it’s taking on a new project or helping your coworker with a deadline, make sure you’re that person that people can rely on or go to in times of need. This will make you indispensable.

  3. Have a can-do attitude: Having the right attitude in the workplace makes a world of difference. If someone asks you to do something and you’re not sure how to do it, make it clear that you’re willing to learn so you can help out.

  4. Be present: Give all your attention and efforts to your work and colleagues during working hours. Don’t get distracted by outside events, and show that you care about your job.

  5. Show gratitude: Similarly to how you want to be appreciated for your efforts, it’s a good idea to show gratitude towards your employer also.
