TUESDAY'S TO DO |
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
This is 2024’s #1 Career Hack…
There’s a long-standing stigma around job hoppers, who are persistently brandished as disloyal, unreliable and uncommitted. But that’s not necessarily the case.
In fact, job hopping (with intention, at least) might be the best thing you can do for your career. 🏆
TikToker and former software engineer Frank Niu is living proof:
After moving from one job to another every one or two years, Niu managed to go from earning $ 70k to over $ 500k in a matter of six years. By the time he was 30, he retired. 😮
Even career experts recommend moving jobs frequently. Michael Doolin, the CEO of Clover HR, says that doing so offers many benefits — from salary increases to skill development and better career opportunities to exposure to more systems and technologies.
Essentially, Doolin says, “it keeps you fresh, current and marketable.”
But there’s a right way to job-hop: 📜
Don’t just hop through jobs for the sake of it. Choose roles that grow your skills and help you move toward your goals.
Don’t hop too often. This can affect your overall prospects. Instead, aim for longer tenures of at least one year.
Minimize gaps. Always secure a new job before leaving the one you already have.

TODAY’S ADVICE
The productivity hacks you need to know 👀
It’s easy to get demotivated at work. 😓 Your tasks are monotonous, your company lacks training and employee recognition, or you simply just don’t have the energy anymore. Whatever your reason may be, you’re reading this because you want to do and be better.
My favorite saying is: “If you’re not going to do anything properly, don’t do it at all!” And adopting the same attitude when it comes to the workplace can do you a world of good. So, what easy hacks can you follow to be more productive at work?
Use the Pomodoro method. No one can focus for hours on end. So, adopt a Pomodoro timer to help you stay on track.
Break tasks down. 📄 Any large project can seem daunting, so break it down into manageable chunks.
Put maximum effort during your productive hours. We all have hours where we are more productive, so work on important tasks during those times.
Make tedious tasks fun. Got filing to do? Listen to your favorite podcast and get inspired whilst doing boring jobs.
Always have a plan. Whether it’s a list of tasks for each week or day, be sure to have a plan of action before starting your work.
