TALKING POINT
Is Microsoft’s new AI a game-changer?
AI has been the talk of the town for months now. And with Microsoft launching their own, it could be an instant game-changer for employees.
The AI called Copilot is for Microsoft Excel, Office, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. So, how will this affect you?
Let’s say you’re in a meeting and are the designated note-taker. Well, Copilot does all that for you now using OneNote at a simple click of a button. It will also use the notes to draft emails, proposals, PowerPoint slides and much more.
But how will it affect your position? While you might be worried that AIs are taking over, they don’t have the personality or emotion to put into the work. They simply use information that’s already on the internet.
So, while the bots are clever, it’s important to learn how to use them to better our quality of work and cut down time on certain tasks.
How do you feel about AIs? Let us know by replying to this mail.
📝 MONDAY’S TO DO:
Pace yourself 🕒 Mondays can be hard, we know. There’s nothing worse than starting your day with 10 calls, 100 emails and 2 pointless meetings after a relaxing and fun weekend. Best thing to do? Take it slow — don’t rush into doing everything all at once, as you’ll be spent by Wednesday!
TODAY’S ADVICE
30 days to impress everyone at your new job? No probs!
Joining a new team is challenging. You have names to remember and different processes to learn. Everything just blurs into one. But even though you’re dealing with first-week nerves, it’s important to get stuck in as soon as you join — if you want to make a lasting impression.
How do you do it, you ask? It’s really quite simple: Set up one-to-ones with everyone on your immediate team.
Within these meetings, ask questions to understand how your work aligns with the team’s goals, and what your priorities should be so you can get a clear understanding on how you can support everyone. And don’t forget to take notes. You’ll be receiving a lot of information that might not make sense at the time but will later down the line.
The goal is to come out with a list of projects that you can work on, and it’s a way to show how you can impact the team right away.
