◉ IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Human Skills to Highlight on Your Résumé

AI skills may be grabbing the headlines, but recruiters haven't stopped looking for people skills. LinkedIn's 2026 Skills on the Rise report, based partly on skills held by professionals who were successfully hired, highlights human skills among the credentials gaining traction.
So, which human skills deserve more résumé real estate? Think beyond the familiar “good communicator” line. Show how you’ve put them to good use:
👂 Oral Comprehension: Show how you interpreted stakeholder needs, translated client briefs, or acted on complex verbal instructions.
🚨 Problem Sensitivity: Highlight times you spotted risks, caught errors, or fixed bottlenecks before they became bigger problems.
🧩 Deductive Reasoning: Demonstrate how you applied policies, frameworks, or established methods to solve specific workplace challenges.
🗂️ Information Ordering: Point to projects where you built logical workflows, structured project plans, or organized complex information.
🎯 Selective Attention: Show how you maintained accuracy, quality, or focus while handling high-volume or fast-paced work.
Your résumé has limited space, so use it to show how your human skills create value alongside technology—not compete with it.

◉ THE CAREER SIGNAL
“Your next career move may matter more than your next job title.”
With hiring still sluggish, workers have less room for test-and-learn moves. A five-year analysis of 12 million workers across 1,750 companies compares employers based on promotion, retention, and pay—making the quality of your next employer increasingly important.
→ Your key takeaway: When evaluating a job, don't just ask, “Will they hire me?” Ask, “Where do people in this role go next?”
