TALKING POINT
Take-backs? Or no take-backs?
📜 In a survey by ZipRecruiter, more than half of the workers interviewed said they’d return to a company that had laid them off. Depending, that is, on how they behaved during the process.
Basically, if they were nice about the layoff and it was for a genuine reason, people would be happy to work for that company again in the future. Communicating openly, providing support and treating workers with empathy are what companies should be doing to handle layoffs.
But that’s not always the case!
Would you return to a company if you were laid off? Reply to this email and let us know.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.”
— Dale Carnegie, American writer
TODAY'S ADVICE
🛡️ Protect and fight for your work–life balance
The weekend is almost here! And what better topic to discuss than our time away from the office?
While everyone needs rest to thrive, many of us sacrifice it for work. If it happens here and there, that’s fine — but it can be harmful if it gets out of hand. To maintain a healthy work–life balance, it’s good to:
Not procrastinate as hard. Listen — we’re all guilty of this. But you should keep your eye on the end goal. In this case, more spare time in the evening. And what’s more precious than time? Beats us. 🤷
Leave work at work. “Easier said than done”, you say? That’s right. But you still have to try. Plan more things that keep you occupied, like exercising, watching shows or meeting friends. No “work talk” allowed, though!
Make use of that PTO. PTO isn’t just a holiday— it's a paid holiday, which means it's better. You’re entitled to it. So, go on a spontaneous road trip with your dog. Sit in all day and eat ice cream from the tub. Just do it! ✔️
To sum things up, the more you recharge your batteries outside of work, the more productive you’ll be at work. And the more productive you are at work, the more quality time off you can enjoy. See?
