DAILY INSPO
TALKING POINT
Is your boss “quiet firing” you?
As we speak, some employers, like cough Meta cough, are letting go workers by the masses. While this may seem harsh, there’s something arguably worse than mass layoffs: quiet firing.
Quiet firing is like ghosting: it’s your manager telling you to go away, but they’re not saying it with words. Instead, they start acting in a way that makes you feel excluded, in hopes you’ll resign. Why? Because if you resign, they don’t have to confront nor compensate you. Did someone say “immature”?
If you have a hunch that this may be happening to you, keep an eye out for these signs:
You’re not being assigned any new tasks
You’re rarely asked for your input
You’re long overdue a raise or promotion
They’ve stopped praising you
They provide no feedback or support
When these things happen consistently, it may be time to “quiet quit” back… Or is it best to polish that résumé and look for another job? Reply to this email and let us know what you think.

TODAY’S ADVICE
Dear diary, help me realize my career goals 📝
Did you ever keep a diary as a kid? If you did, you might have written about your crush or an upcoming play date. But now, as we’re adults, there’s a much better way to use journaling — as a way to boost your career!
Some useful tips to help you begin:
1. Write down your ideas. It’s easy to forget when you have a “eureka!” 💡 moment, so having a journal nearby means you can quickly jot down your idea to bring up with your manager later.
2. Make note of your mistakes. Writing down what you did wrong can help you prevent it from happening in the future. You can look back and learn from it.
3. Vent, vent and vent some more. If you need a safe space to rant about a difficult coworker or to moan about being passed over for a promotion, here it is!
4. Look to the future. Write down your long-term career goals and envision the future you want to manifest. You can keep returning to this page when you’re having a tough day to see how close you are to reaching those goals.
5. Jot down the good stuff. It’s easy to remember the mistakes you make at work, but what about your successes? Keep track of your accomplishments so you can revel in how amazing you are when you need a boost. 👑
