Benefits of Sleeping at Work - Nov 20, 2023 Newsletter
Does a power snooze make you a better worker? Let's find out!
Time to wake up! ⏰
(Or not.) In Monday’s edition, we discuss the benefits of sleeping on the job, ways to get uninterrupted sleep, and why catching some shuteye is so important for a successful career.
🚨 We also have a great deal on supplements that can improve your sleep. Take a look below!
Sleeping pods: A growing corporate culture
Google first introduced nap pods back in 2014😴, identifying the need for workers to be able to rest and recharge in the office. But it’s taken a few years for other companies to follow suit.
Today, businesses including Thrive, Huffpost, Facebook, Uber, Nike, and Ben & Jerry’s have all facilitated space for their employees to take a nap, and we think it’s brilliant!
According to a recent study, habitual napping is associated with a larger brain volume in adults, meaning that when you take regular naps, you’ll be more focused, creative and alert! ✅ For this reason, businesses are adopting this workplace model to get the best out of their employees.
Sleeping pods take the napping game even further; the cocoon-like pods bode a quiet and dark atmosphere to help you drift off faster. They also have an ergonomic design, calming music options and a timer to ensure you don’t nap for too long and enter a deep sleep.

A Better Way To Get Uninterrupted Sleep
It turns out, not getting deep sleep could take years off your life, but medications aren’t the answer.
A groundbreaking 2023 report found that of those getting a good night’s sleep, without the use of sleeping medications, life expectancy was 4.7 years greater for men, and 2.4 years greater for women!
Big pharma HATES these kinds of studies which is likely why you haven’t heard about it…
And unfortunately, the length of your life isn’t the only thing on the line…
Not getting adequate sleep has been linked with:
Memory loss
Mood changes
Weakened immune system
High blood pressure
Weight gain
Low sex drive
Increased risk of chronic disease
Loss of balance and coordination
Luckily, there’s a better way to get uninterrupted sleep: Sleep Supportive Nutrients.
Catching Zs for career advancement 💤
When it comes to advancing your career, you’ve probably heard multiple times that you should do things like work on your confidence and negotiation skills or pursue continuous learning.
But it doesn’t end there: your career can benefit from you not doing anything whatsoever in some instances. Yes, we’re referring to sleeping.
🧼 These are some of the ways in which good sleep hygiene can help you step up the career ladder:
Resting can build your resilience and help you persevere through times of stress. (And work tends to throw plenty of those at us.)
“Sleeping on it” helps your mind process and retain information, which is vital in making big decisions and boosting your learning.
Getting enough sleep increases how alert you feel at work, helping you concentrate, work more efficiently and solve issues faster.
🐑 So, how can you go from counting sheep endlessly to falling asleep more deeply? Start by trying out the following:
Be consistent with the times you go to bed each night and wake up in the morning.
Divorce your electronics every night, even if you’ll take them back the next day. Spend at least 30 minutes apart before bedtime!
Move your body every day, whether that looks like a workout, dance class or a walk around your neighborhood.
Ready, set, track!
Habits are a powerful thing. The healthier our patterns, the healthier, happier and more productive we can become.
Instead of waiting for New Year’s to make changes, why not start right away? Our editable Habit Tracker comes with recommendations that can improve your focus, help you gain knowledge, and maintain a positive mood in and out of work.
