THE BIG IDEA

$ 20m a month selling soda 🥤

soda cans

As children, many of us had our parents and dentists warn against drinking too much soda. In large quantities, sugary drinks can have adverse effects on oral and gut health. But is every soda brand the same as the next? Nope!

Launched by Ben Goodwin in 2017, Olipop is a brand of soda that contains natural plant fiber and prebiotics, and just 2 to 5 grams of natural sugars per can. That’s worlds away from the usual 39 grams per can found in many popular soda brands! 🌿

To create Olipop, Ben had a team of experts analyze gut microbiome research during the development of the product. This gave the brand credibility, which helped in its gaining popularity! In 2023, just 5 years after its creation, Olipop has been generating $ 20m each month. That means that, by the end of the year, it will have brought in more than $ 200m.

🎧 Listen to career podcasts or audiobooks.

📚 Read a book to expand your knowledge (if you’re not driving, that is).

📧 Catch up on texts and emails so you have a head-start on your day.

☎️ Give your client a ring to follow up on a project.

🚶 Consider combining your commute with exercise — walk the last 5–10 minutes of your bus journey.
