THE BIG IDEA

Good feng shui fetches $ 400 an hour ☯️

You’ve heard of feng shui, the ancient Chinese practice that involves using energy forces to harmonize people with their surroundings. But have you heard of feng shui consultants that can take away more than $ 100K a year?

It’s true. There are people who charge good bucks (an average of $ 50 per hour and up to 8 times that) to rearrange people’s homes and offices — and, of course, there are clients willing to pay that much. 🏡

Sharing their expertise with audiences around the globe, some feng shui experts have wildly popular social media channels, too, which no doubt serve as additional sources of funds. Take Joey Yap, whose YouTube videos have been viewed 67M times! ⏩

As the Chinese proverb goes (with a slight amendment): “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man good bedroom feng shui, and you feed him for a lifetime.”

TODAY’S ADVICE

Making friends at work — the right way

We spend almost half of our entire adult lives at work. And sometimes our jobs can become boring, stressful or downright frustrating. But you know what helps? Having one or two work besties.

For many of us, though, it can be a little hard developing friendships in general (not just at work), which is why we want to give you some quick pointers so you can find your very own “person” at work:

  • Engage in small talk. Even if it’s about the weather.

  • Have lunch in the break room. Don’t be antisocial by sitting at your desk.

  • Bring in some baked goods. Everyone will want to be your buddy!

  • Invite coworkers out. Treat them to a round of drinks or go watch Barbie.
