An office that rules, essential skills, virtual presenteeism, and more…
TOGETHER WITH
Happy Friday! 🥳 Marking the end of the week, we’ve got:
Pionen: An office to rule the world in.
Perfectionism: It’s holding you back.
Our gift to you: The mother of all skills lists.
💡 QUOTE OF THE DAY: “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing — that’s why we recommend it daily.” — Zig Ziglar, American author and motivational speaker
THE BIG IDEA
Pionen: A Bond villain’s dream
It’s been almost 61 years since the release of Dr No, the film that launched the James Bond franchise. While the debate still rages on over who the next Bond will be, there can be little debate over the influence the over-the-top lairs of the franchise’s villains have had on film and architecture. 🏛️
Enter Pionen. Located in the White Mountains of Stockholm, Sweden, Pionen is an office space built into a former 1,200m2 atomic fallout shelter. The space was originally built by the Swedish government in 1943 to protect essential government personnel and functions in the event of a fallout. Since 2008, it has been home to Bahnhof AB, one of the largest internet service providers in Sweden.
Located 30 meters below the granite rocks of Vita Berg Park, Pionen is a stunning contrast between organic material and technology, while providing ample workspace in a creative environment. It’s an obvious and successful homage to sci-fi and the film set design of the Bond franchise, and we can’t get enough of it! 😍

TODAY’S ADVICE
Want to succeed at work? Let go of your perfectionism
Perfectionism. It’s a go-to response job applicants use to answer the biggest weakness question. That’s because they think they’re listing a weakness that’s actually a strength.
They’re not. In fact, the effects of perfectionism prove it’s a weakness:
It can be paralyzing.
It can cause anxiety.
It can bring about a “cycle of negativity”.
It can lead to procrastination.
It’s possible to measure success by one’s progression toward achievable goals. It’s not possible to measure perfection. That’s why perfectionism can prevent success. So, forget about doing a flawless job. Let yourself fail, and learn to say “good enough”.

All about that bass 🎵
