THE BIG IDEA

How influencers make a living with AM

#️⃣ Those clickable links below an Instagram story or YouTube video? They’re not there for your sake alone. They’re there because that’s how influencers make a living. It’s called affiliate marketing. But what is it?

Let’s say you sell cars. Dealerships take most of the earnings, but you also take a percentage of the transaction amount. This is a commission. Influencers take a commission whenever someone buys something online through a trackable link.

Let’s take Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as an example. The Rock reportedly makes upwards of $ 1m per post. Why? Because he gives companies an advertising reach of 384m people. That’s over twice the amount of people who watched Super Bowl LVII (115.1m)! Of course, The Rock doesn’t rely on AM as his sole revenue source. But his social media presence does show the 💲s a large following can provide.

Influencers ultimately provide outreach potential for businesses. In return, those businesses pay them to advertise their products.

TODAY’S ADVICE

From career stagnation to meaningful progression 🗺️

Do you feel like your career isn’t progressing as quickly as you’d like? It just might be stagnant. But fret not — there’s a way out. And these quick tips will help you do just that:

  • Set goals. Think about your future and how you want to see yourself in it. It’s a good idea to set small, achievable goals to begin with. 🎯

  • Be realistic. Setting an unrealistically high standard for yourself will make matters worse, especially at the first sign of failure or delay of reaching the goals you set.

  • Develop your skills. Dedicate time and effort to adding to and improving your skill set. This will keep you engaged and motivated to keep moving forward. 🛣️

  • Ask for more responsibility. And challenges. It helps you test yourself, and you’re also ultimately able to determine if you’re truly happy in your career path.

  • Keep networking. Meeting successful people who have been there and done that will encourage your growth, plus you’ll find inspiration for what to do next.

Tools that put the flow in workflow

workflow tools

Productivity tools are popping up every day. ChatGPT makes headlines for its streamlining capabilities. Trello, Calendar and Slack have been the products of choice for team collaboration.

Though one app improves workflow for others, it doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. An app’s User Interface, functionality and pricing determine its usability.
