Faking wealth, keeping your calm, procrastinating a checkup, and more…
TOGETHER WITH
Welcome back! 🤿 Let’s dive in with:
Broke rich: Faking wealth to fake awesomeness.
Under pressure: Relax and take a deep breath.
Give ’em a buzz: Your doctor, that is.
⚡ TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I can achieve great things.
TALKING POINT
Social media + Unrealistic expectations = Fake rich
Keeping up with the Joneses, or rather the Kardashians, is one of the biggest trends in social media. Influencers showcase their wealth with snapshots of fancy outfits and exotic getaways. The issue is: many of those “rich” are actually broke. Not because they don’t have means, but because they’re spending beyond them. 💸
It’s fake-it-till-you-make-it marketing. Pretend you’re rich long enough, and someday someone will believe you are. Acquire the things and visit the places people dream of. Gain followers who are jealous of your lifestyle. Repeat. It’s not far-fetched. Social media obsession is a gateway to fake wealth jealousy.
Of course, social media didn’t create fake wealth. But it does encourage it. What's really behind fake wealth is the idea that you’re a failure if you haven’t achieved career awesomeness by 35. The fake wealth age range is also the one that desires a sense of career accomplishment. If they don’t have it, they’ll fake it.

📝 TUESDAY’S TO DO:
Create a reminder to drink water 💧 If you’re the kind of person who forgets to drink water, set a reminder for every hour and a half to drink one cup.
TODAY’S ADVICE
Deep breaths, everyone! 😮💨
In the middle of a 💩 storm at work, rushing to meet a last-minute deadline, fixing a major screw-up or dealing with annoying coworkers that you just want to slap across the face with a trout? We feel you.
But before you go all Terminator on everyone, take a second and breathe. If you don’t, things will end very badly — both for yourself and everyone else.
These quick tips will help you stay calm when things go wrong:
Take deep breaths. Lengthen your exhales, and focus breathing from your belly.
Distract yourself. Temporarily direct your attention away from what’s bothering you.
Use your words. Putting your feelings into words will lessen the distress and help you better process your feelings.
