THE BIG IDEA

Fruit, ice and everything nice 💰

At the age of 18, Nico Vergara went on a trip to New Zealand that ended up changing his life. Down under, he tried real fruit ice cream, a combination of frozen fruit pieces and vanilla ice cream.

He loved it so much that, in the span of 3 years, he began selling New Zealand-style ice cream out of his own cart in Oregon. This was followed by two physical ice cream parlors and a collaboration with 60 grocery stores that currently sell his ice cream. 🍦

Within a year, Nico’s Ice Cream had brought in just under $ 500k. So, how did a young man his age manage this — without ever going to college? Well, Vergara thanks his family for that. Specifically his mother, who introduced him to investing at a young age, helping him make $ 25k — and an uncle who lent him another $ 10k. Combined with the skills he developed working in the service industry, he successfully launched his own business.

If you knew you couldn’t fail, what business would you start? Reply and let us know.

TODAY’S ADVICE

Résumé buzzwords? More like résumé buzzkill

Hiring managers receive hundreds of résumés for a single vacancy. And most, sadly, follow the same generic template and content.

The result? They don’t stand out, and recruiters grow tired of reading the same thing. Over and over again. 🥱

One way to make them sit up and pay attention to your résumé? Replace the buzzwords you’ve used.

These are some of the worst résumé buzzwords you should steer clear of:

  • Team player

  • Proven track record

  • Excellent communicator

  • Highly experienced

  • People person

  • Trustworthy

  • Synergy

  • Enthusiastic

  • Dynamic

  • Gives 110 %

Every one of us is talking about it. And how could we not be? Whether it’s to mutter “wow” repeatedly, in disbelief, or groan at its ridiculous price tag, we can’t keep the Apple Vision Pro out of our minds. And for good reason! It captures 3D photos and videos, transforms any room into a personal theater, and allows you to navigate digital content with your bare hands.

So, which team are you on? Are you eager to try Apple’s sci-fi “ski goggles”, or have you been shaking your head disapprovingly this whole time? Let us know!
