What happens when ChatGPT takes over, speaking up, LinkedInfluencers and more...
TOGETHER WITH
It’s almost Friday! 😋 And here’s what we’ve got lined up:
ChatGPT: How it controlled one man’s life.
Speaking up in meetings: Career-influencing tips.
Coffee vs tea: The great debate.
✨ TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: It’s okay to relax and reset after a long day. Rest is not a luxury, but a priority.
THE BIG IDEA
When ChatGPT takes over 🤖
From debugging code to writing poetry to passing exams, there’s no end to what ChatGPT can do. Just a few weeks ago, the AI chatbot took on a more unusual role. That of a… parent? Or unimaginative dictator? Let’s dive into it.
A writer called Jack Ramage gave up his autonomy to the platform for a day. Posing questions like “What shall I eat for breakfast?”, Jack put ChatGPT in charge and did everything the chatbot told him to.
The result? He spent a lot of time in queues. Having no insights of its own, rather simply recycling information at the speed of light, ChatGPT sent Ramage around London’s most popular attractions. 🎡💂🏼♂️
Among other things, ChatGPT suggested a visit to the Tate Modern, a cruise on the Thames and a trip to an overcrowded pub. There, ChatGPT recommended Jack a beer called Kwak, presenting it as a staple. Embarrassingly, the bartender hadn’t heard of it.
So, what does this tell us? Though scarily impressive, ChatGPT can just move within the confines of what’s already out there — often producing false information. So, don’t give up thinking for yourself entirely just yet!

📝 THURSDAY’S TO DO:
Declutter your desktop 💻 If you’ve been delaying this for a while, this is your sign to act.

OPINION
LinkedInfluencers: what, who, how?…
LinkedIn was once upon a time a platform that you used to find jobs and connect with people in your field. But like other social channels, it’s become crowded by influencers. But how do these differ from those you find on Instagram and TikTok?
Influencers on LinkedIn are sharing information on how to market yourself to recruiters, build a brand or even personal stories about bad bosses. And they’re getting paid for it, too!
With their posts attracting thousands of viewers, LinkedInfluencers are attracting job offers, side hustles and affiliate schemes.
So, how can the average Joe become a LinkedInfluencer? Simply post about your experiences and knowledge within your field. Be consistent with your audiences, and you’ll slowly (but surely) reach new users and build a following.

TODAY’S ADVICE
Speak up in meetings — Your career will thank you 🙏
Speaking up in team meetings can be daunting, especially when you’re not sure if your ideas will be well-received.
But sharing your thoughts can lead to valuable discussions and help you stand out as a valuable employee. And yes, even advance your career.
Some tips on how to speak up in meetings:
1. Prepare. Review meeting agendas and prepare ideas or questions beforehand. This can help you articulate your thoughts clearly and confidently.
2. Listen. Listen attentively to the discussions and wait for the right moment to contribute. If you’re unsure what to add, ask clarifying questions or restate key points from the discussion.
3. Be confident. Speak slowly, clearly and confidently. Keep your message concise and relevant. Avoid rambling or going off topic.
4. Engage others. Encourage participation from others in the meeting. When you acknowledge and build on others’ ideas, you create a collaborative environment.
5. Follow up. After the meeting, follow up with coworkers or your manager to expand on your ideas or give additional suggestions.

What’s your source of caffeine?
If you’re the average worker (that’s code for “tired”), you possibly caffeinate yourself every day. Unless you’re one of those gym-at-5am types, who pump their energy levels up the natural, sweaty way.
In moderation, both coffee and tea come with a set of health benefits. 🤸 Coffee has been linked with a lower likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes, certain types of cancer, and heart disease. Tea, on the other hand, can boost the immune system, fight inflammation, and decrease anxiety.
So — what’s your fuel?
